The
Corporation for Public Broadcasting (1989), whose one-time major contribution
made it possible for NEW AMERICAN RADIO to become a weekly national series.
The National Endowment for the Arts (1989-present), whose encouragement and unrestricted annual support allowed the series to continue for nine years. And for 2002 and 2003 grants to archive the series at Wesleyan University. The Rockefeller Foundation (1989-1991), which for three consecutive years encouraged the development of work by minority artists and international artists. The Jerome Foundation (1990, 1991, 1993), whose support for emerging artists was responsible for many interesting works by younger artists. The Meet the Composer/Reader's Digest Commissioning Program in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts and the Lila Wallace-Reader's Digest Fund (1990, 1993, 1994, 1995), whose commitment to the development of new work by composers made possible many of NEW AMERICAN RADIO's major musical works. The Pew Charitable Trusts (1991/92; 1992/93 ), whose assistance made original work by Philadelphia artists available to the series. The New York State Council on the Arts (1989-1996), whose friendly encouragement and long-time support made possible the development of work by New York artists, particularly minority artists. We are also grateful to the L.J. Skaggs and Mary C. Skaggs Foundation, the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts and the Funding Exchange/The Paul Robeson Fund for Independent Media. From New Radio and Performing Arts , Inc. and all its artists, a heartfelt Thank You. |
