The History of WORT-FM

WORT has carried NEW AMERICAN RADIO from its beginning. In 1995 it joined New Radio and Performing Arts, Inc. and KPFA-FM (Berkeley, CA) in commissioning composers Terry Riley, Christine Baczewska, and Mikel Rouse to create new works for radio. The commissions were funded with a grant from the Meet the Composer/Reader's Digest Commissioning Program, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts and the Lila Wallace-Reader's Digest Fund. The works will be distributed as part of NEW AMERICAN RADIO's 1996-97 season.
